The Antidiabetic Activities of the Enzyme Hydrolyzed Silk Peptide

Abstract
Recently, hydrolyzed silk peptide on acid and alkaline were developed and studied on anti bacterial, cryoprotective, antioxidant, anticancer and antidiabetic activities.
For the investigation of antidiabetic drug, we were elucidated the effects of enzyme hydrolyzed silk peptide on streptozotocin induced hyperglycemia, silk peptide of two different molecular weight were administrated after injection of streptozotocin (50mg/kg, ip), and blood glucose, serum triglyceride and serum cholesterol levels were determined at 4 days after streptozotocin injection.
And the results were as following:
1. The blood glucose levels of streptozotocin induced hyperglycemic rats were significantly decreased by the administrations by various dose of silk peptide of Japan Products and glibenclamide and especially enzyme hydrolyzed silk peptide were showed to decrease glucose levels than another silk peptide.
2. The serum cholesterol levels of streptozotocin induced hyperglycemic rats were significantly decreased by the administrations by various dose of silk peptide of Japan Products and glibenclamide and especially enzyme hydrolyzed silk peptide were showed to decrease cholesterol levels than another silk peptide.
3. The serum triglyceride levels of streptozotocin induced hyperglycemic rats were significantly decreased by the administrations by various dose of silk peptide of Japan Products and glibenclamide and especially enzyme hydrolyzed silk peptide were showed to decrease triglyceride levels than another silk peptide.
